Business Continuity and Coronavirus/COVID-19

To our valued clients,

At JRBT, the health and safety of our employees, our clients and the communities in which we live and work is of paramount importance. For this reason, we are taking specific precautions and putting measures in place to help ensure both the safety of our people and our visitors and, also, business continuity for our clients during the current outbreak of Coronavirus/COVID-19. With confirmed cases reported in a neighboring county, we are considering the potential impact to us and how we can continue to provide the highest level of service to our clients in a safe work environment for all of our team members.

According to the most recent information from the CDC, for most people, the immediate risk of being exposed to the virus that causes COVID-19 is low. However, we want you to feel comfortable working with our firm during this important and critical time of year. One of the precautions recommended by the CDC is to minimize close contact with others.  Outlined below are ways we are working to minimize potential risk for all as we work together towards April 15th and other reporting deadlines.

Electronic options – To protect both our staff and our clients against virus spread, we are recommending that where possible, we conduct information sharing using electronic options. While meeting with your tax advisor, account specialist, payroll specialist or other JRBT professional face-to-face can certainly alleviate stress around this time of year, we can accomplish much with telephone and electronic data transmission. To provide us with documents, you can send items through our client portal, available on our website. Additionally, we urge you to take advantage of the option to receive your tax returns electronically via SafeSend and to receive your financial statements and payroll reports electronically, as well.  We would be glad to talk with you about how to make this happen.

Remote considerations –Because the spread of the virus is a serious risk, we are working on a plan of action that in the event that our physical offices need to close or have access limited, we can continue to provide you with the highest level of service. Should this occur, we want to assure you that our work and your project(s) will not be disrupted.  We have the technological infrastructure to work virtually from anywhere should the need arise and we are making the appropriate arrangements to ensure that our team members can work remotely for as long as they may need to.

We are committed to our people, our clients and our communities and are monitoring this developing situation closely.

Thank you for your patience and trust in JRBT during these unusual circumstances. If you have any questions or further concerns, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
