The IRS will, in certain instances, issue a ruling on the tax consequences of a prospective transaction. Rulings are obtained to assure taxpayers of the tax consequences of proposed transactions, and to minimize later controversies with the IRS. We develop the ruling request for our clients so that the proper information is filed with the IRS to expedite the ruling process.
