Living in Waco – a small town feeling with plenty of amenities

Cameron Park Bridge in Cameron Park Waco Suspension Bridge

Located midway between the Texas state capital of Austin and the bustling metroplex of Dallas-Fort Worth, Waco is a green and pleasant city that over a quarter of a million people call “home sweet home.”

Living in Waco means having more leisure time for your favorite pursuits. There’s no rush hour here – maybe a few “rush minutes” – so whether you choose to reside in a suburban neighborhood or all the way out in the country, traveling between work and home takes just a few minutes for most people.

Waco boasts recreational opportunities for all kinds of fun, from the outdoor pleasures of boating, camping and fishing, to the excitement of Big 12 Conference athletic events at Baylor. For retail therapy, residents delight in discovering an endless array of boutique shops selling custom jewelry, clothing, crafts, and gifts, as well as two shopping malls with name brand stores.

There are restaurant offerings to suit every taste and budget, from Texas barbecue to Italian to Thai … and everything in between. And the city’s multicultural heritage has gifted our modern city with rich traditions and buildings of historical significance.
